A new information point in Svedjehamn, Björköby

A new information point, financed by the National Forest and Park Service, was opened in Björköby, on the parking site in Svedjehamn in the beginning of July. The information point was indeed needed as the number of visitors in Svedjehamn during the summer months is daily appr. 60-120, and the visitors come not just from the Ostrobothian area but from other parts of Finland and also from abroad, for instance, from Baltic countries and Germany. The most popular tourist attraction is the Saltkaret view tower which is located near the parking site. Trainees of the National Forest and Park Service work at the information point every day between 10 am and 4 pm, and guide visitors and provide information, for instance, about the World Heritage Site, local attractions, hiking routes and cruises.
