The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has launched a new website, World Heritage Outlook, where assessments of the state of conservation of the world´s natural heritage sites have been published.

According to the assessment, the High Coast/Kvarken archipelago World Heritage site has done well. Overall, the “conservation outlook for the geological features of the site, which are the basis for its Outstanding Universal Value, is good”. Still, there are some concerns regarding the marine biological diversity of the site, which is already displaying signs of degradation.

The assessment report for the High Coast/Kvarken archipelago is available here.
