The Kvarken Archipelago is the first World Natural Heritage Site in Finland. The World Heritage Days are organised every summer to celebrate this. In the year 2010 we celebrate the World Heritage Days for the fifth time.

You learn more about the World Heritage for example in Terranova – Kvarkens Nature Centre. Furthermore you can attend to various cruises and treks and experience our gorgeous World Heritage trough your own eyes. During the World Heritage Days you can head for the Björkö-Panike-trek or to cruise little further, for example to Mikkelinsaaret, Moikipää or Valassaaret.

A conference for all the World Heritage Sites in Finland is also held in Vaasa on the 12 August 2010. The conference is held mainly in Finnish and Swedish, but there are some presentations also in English. The conference is open for public and has free entry.

The program of the World Heritage Days is organised by Metsähallitus in co-operation with World Heritage communities (the city of Vaasa, Mustasaari, Vöyri-Maksamaa, Maalahti and Korsnäs) and with many local associations and organisations. We welcome everybody to enjoy the varied program in the World Heritage communities and to celebrate the Kvarken Archipelago, our own World Natural Heritage!

You can find the program of the World Heritage Days from here. You can also upload the program from here.
